Here's a little bio
I have owned and operated Courage Performance (Josh Courage Training when I first started it), and now LIVING WITH COURAGE for over 18 years now. And I've been coaching for over 23. I’ve opened two successful physical gym locations (DC and CA), and have coached thousands of people, from young kids, to seniors, to professional athletes, to complete first timers, to weekend warriors. My passion for helping others gain control of their lives and reach their true potential has helped countless people change for the better, forever.
It all started when I was playing professional baseball, always looking for an edge. And that desire to constantly seek improvement seemed to attract training partners and people asking advice. I spent my spare time educating myself in everything from human biomechanics, physiology, nutrition, energy systems, etc. And when my short baseball career was over, a new career and passion took over my life! Personally, I am constantly challenging myself. From CrossFit, to marathon, to triathlon, Spartan Races, Olympic Weightlifting, Powerlifting, and (not directly fitness related) outdoor/primitive survival training and archery/bow hunting. And this hands-on experience in learning, training, and competing plays a huge roll in my coaching. I want nothing more than to help empower each person I work with to become the best version of themselves possible. Aside from the health and fitness stuff, I am a husband to my wonderful wife, and a father to two amazing kids. Being a father is by far what I am most proud of and my two kids are without question my WHY for everything I do. Shifting from gym owner, to online personal trainer, and now branching out with this Living With Courage brand idea has been such an incredbly educational and humbling process. I am excited to continue to help even more people using both the limitless reach of the internet, and face to face (if you're in the Rochester area!). |
